Rebecca Bunney lives and works in the Purbecks, with her two sons. After studying at Trinity College of Music, London, where she graduated in 2003 with a BMus (Hons) and a licentiate in teaching, she re-located to France for 5 years to renovate and manage a holiday gite business with her family, where she also ran residential music courses for adults.

Rebecca returned to England in 2010 and settled in Dorset, welcoming the many opportunities to be involved in the performing arts; teaching classroom music in primary schools, providing instrumental tuition, devising and delivering workshops, and establishing and running the community choir ‘Castle Voices’ in Corfe Castle.

Rebecca at heart is foremost a saxophonist; she worked with the publications ‘Saxtet Publications' for many years, which is an online publications company specialising in original music for saxophone. She has played soprano, alto and baritone Saxophones in a wide variety of settings, with Big Bands, Jazz Bands, Ska Bands, as well as classically with Wind Orchestra, The National Saxophone of Great Britain, and smaller ensembles including her Sax Quartet ‘In toto’, with whom she travelled with the British Council Arts to the Middle East to perform and deliver music workshops to over 15 schools.

She currently plays with the retro swing outfit, ‘Retro Groove Mob’. She teaches privately the saxophone, flute and piano and has students ranging from 5 to 75, and has a passion for helping people find their ‘inner musician’.

Rebecca took over the post of Musical Director of the Belvedere Singers in September 2014. When she’s not conducting, the outdoor life beckons. She loves walking the Purbeck beaches and hills.
